Grief
We are Here for You
"The grief of heartache often comes in unpredictable episodes of intense pain that come & go. These episodes are called 'grief spasms.' You may feel overwhelmed by your sense of sorrow. You may hurt physically & feel like you have the flu."
– Susan Elliot
Loss of any kind shakes up our world! Whether we’ve lost a parent, sibling, relationship, pet, health or situation, loss can affect us in many ways. Often, people do not grieve loss in the same way. It looks different for each person and situation. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Receiving help to understand your grief and identify it can be an empowering experience. Meeting with a counselor who understands grief allows you the opportunity to release the emotions associated with grief that may be causing difficulty for you at this time.
It is important to remember that grief does not go away if ignored, grief does not have the same expression for everyone. Grief does not automatically mean crying and sadness. Grief also does not have a timetable.
Seeing a Grief Support Specialist can help us in hard times. CORE offers specialized counseling to help.
